The Regional Technological Centres (RTC) ensure that students and teachers in vocational and technical secondary education acquire labour market-oriented, technical and technological skills. They are helping build quality education in Flanders and the Brussels Capital Region, ensuring that education and training are better aligned with the needs of the labour market. Their approach is to forge partnerships between education (TSO-BSO-DBSO-BUSO), companies and other labour market actors.
Regional Technological Centres (RTCs) work across networks and support educational institutions with TSO-BSO study programmes in various ways:
- Sharing technological infrastructure
- Sharing technological equipment
- Ensuring that students (through project work) and teachers acquire labour market-oriented, technical and technological skills
- Supporting schools within the dual learning framework and promoting STEM courses
- Forging links between schools and companies
