Three start-ups receive a coveted €500,000 subsidy for their innovative solutions
Every year, Innoviris grants the prestigious Innovative Starters Award (ISA) to 3 start-ups and scale-ups that stand out for their innovativeness and ambition. This programme provides a funding of EUR 500 000 per start-up selected. This subsidy granted by the Brussels-Capital Region aims to stimulate the local start-up ecosystem and generate significant leverage for the most promising young technology companies in Brussels.
After a thorough evaluation, the jury selected three startups with strong innovative potential and a solid vision of sustainable entrepreneurship.
Meet the winning projects of passionate young entrepreneurs:
AI-Blox: embedded AI, simplified and scalable
AI-Blox is developing a modular hardware and software platform that makes it easier to deploy Edge AI solutions in areas such as smart cities, quality control and robotics. The platform reduces integration costs, accelerates prototyping and simplifies maintenance.
The young company now seeks to strengthen its software platform to:
• enable the industrial-scale deployment of concrete use cases,
• speed up the development of proofs of concept,
• and generate recurring revenue through an integrated offer.
LEVV: an urban, ethical and circular cloud
LEVV is developing a next-generation cloud infrastructure built around micro data centres in urban environments with a minimal environmental footprint. Fully powered by renewable energy, water-free and capable of valorising the heat it generates, the solution combines data storage, computing and heat recovery in one sustainable model.
LEVV now aims to industrialise and scale up its modular platform with the help of:
• highly energy-efficient cloud cells,
• advanced software tools (such as GreenOps, autoscaling and carbon footprint monitoring),
• and a broad commercial offer for the Belgian market.
Sonaar: artificial intelligence for accessible public procurement
Sonaar offers a SaaS platform for market intelligence, specifically focused on public procurement, with the aim of making it more accessible, transparent and inclusive.
Leveraging natural language processing, the platform focuses on four key areas:
• automated extraction of key criteria from tender documents,
• intelligent summarisation of tender context,
• public procurement prediction,
• and personalised recommendations for businesses.

The new call for the Innovative Starters Award 2025 is now open. Start-ups and ambitious scale-ups with innovative projects can apply for a €500,000 funding opportunity. Applications are open until 11 July 2025.
