In the 2025 Annual Report, we look back on a year in which, despite the context of ongoing challenges, we continued to provide unwavering support for research and innovation in the Brussels-Capital Region.
In 2025, Innoviris invested 43.7 million euros in 406 projects, in line with the objectives of the Regional Innovation Plan 2021–2027. These investments supported, amongst other things, innovation pathways, social innovation, knowledge development and the promotion of science.
The past year was also characterised by connection.
The first edition of Innoviris Connect brought together researchers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders from the Brussels R&D&I ecosystem and coincided with the celebration of Innoviris’s 20th anniversary.
In addition, Brussels was once again recognised as a European Innovation Leader, confirming the dynamism and talent within the Brussels innovation ecosystem.
The mid-term evaluation confirms that the actions of the Regional Innovation Plan 2021–2027 have been a key driver of innovation and the development of an innovative, sustainable and inclusive ecosystem in the Brussels-Capital Region. At the same time, it allows us to look ahead and highlights where further investment, simplification and strategic choices are needed to maximise the potential of research and innovation.
